Practice before you preach…

I have a thing for nature, it gives me this spiritual high to think I am a part of this breathtaking glory. Its like a battleground out there and everyday is a war, just to see another day.In a recent camping trip I found out how vulnerable as humans we really are. How in the world, did we fragile and physically disadvantaged beings come to be so much more while others are busy surviving. I keep wondering and wondering over this but in the end all I have left to say is alhamdulilah! Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) has really favored us.
And We have certainly honored the children of Adam and carried them on the land and sea and provided for them of the good things and preferred them over much of what We have created, with [definite] preference.[17:70]
The competition is cut throat out there. No muslim can go without saying subhanAllah or Allahu Akbar after watching any of the wild life shows on tv or any mind blowing discovery that science makes. I can’t get enough watching nature at its best and the humility that comes with it. In this war of the most skilled and perfectly designed, how is it possible for humans to have even survived without Divine help, leave alone ruling the planet. Its hard to get your head around this concept and yet there are some people who go on without giving this a thought or even dismiss any help.

This morning something popped into my thoughts that I knew was waswas. It was so funny that I had to write this letter to shaitaan summarizing all of the serious whispers as a reminder to myself. Psst..keep your friends close and your enemies closer 🙂 Continue reading

So this year will be my second Ramadan inshaAllah and it is near enough to make me feel what I am feeling right now. But alhamdulilah ala kulli haal. For indeed with hardship comes ease, Indeed with hardship comes ease [94:5-6]
my anticipation has a company.
I smile at the blessed month of joy
but dread the sinking feeling
In the name of Allah, The Most Loving
A hurricane of rage and exasperation swirls off my mind. Feeling helpless in particular for those who don’t understand Islam, yet consider themselves qualified enough to wave it off like an annoying fly. This is not a good feeling because this is how the devil rolls. Creating resentment in both sides Continue reading
Just like I see many fingers pointing out, I see a very few fingers pointing in. Its really annoying to see that people actually crib about the faults of others when the have similar faults themselves. We all fall short. Nobody is perfect, this may be the most clichéd things about humans but its true.
Even our beloved Prophet ﷺ has said “All the children of Adam constantly err, but the best of those who constantly err are those who constantly repent.” [Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah, Ahmad, Hakim]
If you are a muslimah but you are not a hijabi, if you are a hijabi, you are not a niqabi, if you don’t have a beard you are not a true muslim, if you are a revert you are not a real muslim (true story), if you are a namazi you are too religious, if you support jihad you are an extremist, if you listen to music you are a sinner, if you made mistakes you are not good enough, if you are gay, you are evil, if you are a smoker you are a bad muslim Continue reading
I remember the times that I begin to drift
Taking the wrong steps, almost committing a sin
My saving grace, my friend in need
