About Me

Welcome to my blog ๐Ÿ™‚

For those who do not know let me clear up what the name of my blog means. In India (and may be in Pakistan too), muslims are addressed as “miyabhai” specially by other muslims. In hindi/urdu, miya = muslim and bhai = brother. So there you go

But I am just a sister (borrowing this term anyway :P) and a revert from India. I love to read. My favorite word is “Iqra” and Islam equals love for me. Just like many a blessed, mine is a journey of falling, rising, learning, unlearning, breaking away and coming together. The journey from darkness to light.ย My heart has becomeย full to the brim and its spilling out words

Keep up if you wish ๐Ÿ™‚

Allย praiseย is due toย Allah, the Lord of the Worlds,ย The Beneficent, the Merciful andย Allah’s Peaceย and Blessings be upon His Final Messenger

  1. Lol.. The first line of your intro cracked me up. If you don’t mind, may I know what “miyabhai” actually means? I’m just curious haha ๐Ÿ˜›

  2. Salaam sister I’m new to your blog, masha Allah great work, seeing you from India, then I guess you will love my series ” from Delhi to Tamil Nadu” on my blog as you will be able to relate to it- awesome blog Allah bless you ameen

  3. Loved reading your thoughts. “Iqra” surely is one beautiful word; it is the point from where a never-ending stream of “Ilm” begins. Islam equals love. ๐Ÿ™‚ So glad to find your blog. Wassalam, Maria.

  4. Assalam-0-Alaikum Dear Sister Miya,
May Allah bless you. Nice to know that you are a revert to Islam. It may be a long story for you to share how and why did you embrace Islam? but I shall appreciate if you could share with me any one/ few Qur’anic verses in this connection.
Have a nice day and May Allah bless you.
    Your’s brother,

    • Wa alaikum Asalam brother,

Ameen and jazakAllah khair. Yes indeed its a long story and one that’s still ongoing alhamdulilah ๐Ÿ™‚ Regarding the verses, I’ll mention some that I still remember to have impacted me greatly at the time

Does man think that he will be left neglected? [75:36]

And We did not create the heavens and earth and that between them in play. We did not create them except in truth, but most of them do not know.[44:38-39]

And We did not create the heaven and earth and that between them in play.Had We intended to take a diversion, We could have taken it from [what is] with Us – if [indeed] We were to do so.[21:16-17]
These verses were an eye opener for me as I was always the kind of person who thought there has to be some method in this madness of life and that life was not meant to be in vain and it was as if I had stumbled on the answer without even looking for it. Alhamdulilah that Allah SWT showed me His path!!! And this was just a beginning when the puzzle pieces started falling in place.

I hope this helped you. I have been contemplating to write my revert story but just can’t find words yet. Soon, inshaAllah!! Sorry for the late reply as I just saw your comment in the spam box, no idea why its there lol.

May Allah SWT bless you too! Ameen! Fi amanillah

      • Sister Miya! Qur’an is really a miracle. Thank you for answering my question and sharing Qur’anic verses. Yes these are inspiring. Now I should also share with you one Qur’anic verse Surah/Chapter 002 โ€“ Al-Baqarah. Verse 136.
People are using English words God, Lord etc, never spoken and heard by blessed Jesus, Moses and Prophets. We Muslims use Arabic word Allah spoken and heard by blessed Muhummad. The name Allah seems to be strange to non-Muslims and Christians but this name has been used by all Prophets since Adam until Muhammed (pbuh). It is a contraction of the two Arabic words Al -Ilah, i.e. The God. By dropping-the letter โ€œIโ€ you will find the word Allah. According to its position in an Arabic sentence it can have the form โ€œAllahaโ€ that is close to the Hebrew name of the Creator, i.e. Eloha. The Jews are using the plural form of respect when they say โ€œElohimโ€. (in the eastern languages there are two types of plural: one is of numbers and the other is of respect). The word โ€œAllahaโ€ sounds closer to the Aramaic word for God used by Blessed Jesus, namely โ€œAllahaโ€ (see Encyclopedia Britannica 1980 under Allah and Elohim). So while the name Allah is strange to non-Muslims/Christians, it is not strange to all Prophets from Adam to Muhammed (pbuh) as they propagated in principle the same Islam, i.e. total submission to ALLAH.

        Quran: Surah/Chapter 002 โ€“ Al-Baqarah. Verse 136.
Say (O Muslims): We believe in Allah and that which is revealed unto Us and that which was revealed unto Abraham, and Ishmael, and Isaac, and Jacob. and the tribes, and that which Moses and Jesus received, add that which the Prophets received from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and unto Him we have surrendered.

        May Allah bless you and help you to study and learn more and more Qur’an;
        Your Brother,
